YogActive Kids

Yoga For Young Children, Youth and Teens

We all understand the benefits of yoga, and most likely (like us) discovered them as an adult. How amazing would it be for children to experience and integrate the yoga teachings from a young age? Yoga has been proven to help children:

  • sleep better

  • develop empathy towards others

  • increase focus and attention for tasks

  • process emotions by being more aware of themselves and their feelings

  • develop confidence and body-love

  • suffer less from anxiety and depression

  • build functional strength, increase mobility

Yoga for Children

Yoga for Teens

Yoga For Youth

Classes centre around bringing awareness back to the body. Children will learn basic breathing techniques and yoga shapes through fun and interactive stories - themes reflect on acceptance, confidence, self-love, kindness and gratitude. These classes are geared more to the Pre-Primary to Grade 2 levels.

**October session to be announced soon**

Classes continue to centre around bringing awareness back to the body. Children will continue to develop breathing techniques and yoga shapes, now with a focus on how we can use these tools in our day-to-day life. Discussion will be less story centred and more about how it feels good to move our bodies and how we can do things to help ourselves feel our best. Grade 3-6 levels.

**Summer dates coming soon**

Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of yoga through guided meditations, breathing, vinyasa sequencing. Verbal cueing continues to bring awareness back to the body (something teens especially struggle with) with a focus on self-acceptance, self-love and confidence.

Yoga for Teens is free and offered to students from all schools, while being hosted at Wolfville School. Registration is through the Town of Wolfville by contacting nzamora@wolfville.ca
